"Good Morning America" host Robin Roberts is welcomed back with smiles and open arms from her co-workers, viewers, and the First Family! The anchor returns to her show after almost 174 days since she left for a bone marrow transplant in September 2012.
The strong anchorwoman left her chair vacant in August notifying her supporters and viewers of her health issues. Roberts received a warm welcome from co-host George Stephanopoulos showing off her not-so-quite bald hair with smiles thanking everyone for all the prayers and warm welcome, "Faith, family and friends have brought me to this moment." Roberts added, "As my mother said, 'We all have something and every story has meaning and purpose and value.'"
President Barack Obama and wife Michelle taped a "Welcome Back Robin" segment as the first surprise to the host of the day saying, "Good Morning America and welcome back Robin! ... it's great to see you back in that chair."
The First lady added, "We've been thinking about you and praying for and rooting for you every step of the way." The First Lady also added that she was looking forward to their sit down interview, which airs on "Good Morning America "on Tuesday, February 26.
Robin's received a life-saving bone marrow transplant from her sister Sally-Ann and her TV show was there every step monitoring her admittance to the hospital to her first day home after a successful surgery and recovery. Roberts is now the "the most-liked host on any American morning news show by a wide margin," according to the New York Times.
