Based on the cult classic from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, El Rey Network continues Season 2 of From Dusk Till Dawn. This is the perfect opportunity to check up on Episode 1-5 as Carlos Madrigal (Wilmer Valderrama), The Regulator (Danny Trejo), and Richie Gecko (Zane Holtz) confronted each other.
As we previously mentioned, Santánico (Eiza González) and Richie (Holtz) are outside Houston, living like Bonnie and Clyde, while Seth (D.J. Cotrona) and Kate (Madison Davenport) are scraping by south of the border. While Freddie Gonzalez (Jesse Garcia) protects his wife and young daughter in a Houston suburb, Carlos Madrigal (Valderrama) and Scott (Brandon Soo-Hoo) emerge from ruins of the Titty Twister. They will all come together to face off against an even bigger threat, Lord Amancio Malvado (Esai Morales).
Check out our 5 thoughts on the first five episodes of the second season of From Dusk Till Dawn:
5) He Ripped The Guy's Face Off!
In Opening Night, the goriest scene in the episode, Lord Amancio Malvado (Morales) makes his introduction by ripped the face off his henchmen. There was also some smart commentary going on as the Sin City filmmaker directed the premiere. In the cold opening, Santanico was working in a meat factory along with the rest of the illegal immigrants.
4) The Heist Gone Horribly Wrong!
In A Dark Time, we got a chance to see Kate and Seth Gecko working together on a heist. Cotrona is just smooth and at ease when he has to deliver the puppy dialogue. The opening monologue just tops "You..Be Cool!" Seth points his gun crookedly at the camera and states, "I'm not your enemy, and I'm not your friend. I'm simply here for what's mine."
3) Jeff Fahey Shows Up!
This critic was very excited to hear that the Lost actor would be playing Uncle Eddie Cruickshank. Fahey kicks up the acting another notch because he oozes chemistry with Zane Holtz and D.J. Corona. In our MStars News interview, Fahey talks about working with Holtz and Cotrona, "What's wonderful is each one of those, Seth and Richie, and Eddie for that matter, they all dance to the beat of their own drummer, but within that world they are all thieves, and so when you mix those three elements together, you're going to come up with a bit of rock and roll."
2) The Sexy Dance!
Though she has escaped from his clutches, Santanico is just as obsessed with Malvado, as he is with her. Unfortunately, whatever Malvado taught Santanico, she's now passing down his savagery onto Paloma Gutierrez (Alicia Sanz). You now have three versions of the stripper snake dance. Pick your favorite dancer between Salma Hayek, Eiza González, and Alicia Sanz if you can because they're all smoking hot.
1) The Geckos Are Back
Of the five, Bondage is by far the best episode because after being separated, Richie and Seth are finally reunited. The chemistry between them kicks up the show another notch! In our MStars News interview, Holtz reveals which episodes from the sophomore season are his favorites, "I think my favorite episodes from season two are episodes four and five, and on throughout the rest of the season." I'm anxious what happens in the second half of the season!
Season Two of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series continues Tuesdays 9pm on El Rey Network.
