Destiny's Child Member Michelle Williams Inked Reality Show Deal 'My Sister's Keeper'; REPORT
Beyonce's Destiny's Child bandmate Michelle Williams has inked a deal for her own reality show. Williams will star in My Sister's Keeper, a reality show where the cameras will follow her and her sisters as they work on her upcoming gospel album.
Williams said she was "excited" about the opportunity to allow her fans to get a glimpse of the effort she will put into making her new album.
"Working together on my new gospel album and television series, I am excited to share with everyone a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration and journey of recording for the album, performing, fun family times and other unforgettable experiences out together with my dear sisters," Williams told The Hollywood Reporter.
Tara Long, a senior vice president of Entertainment One, the company who will create the show, said in a statement that the brand is "very excited to expand upon our relationship with Michelle."
"This new collaboration that will provide fans with a peek into her everyday life," said Long.
The announcement comes two weeks after Williams joined her Destiny's child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Beyonce, for a reunion during the Houston native's Super Bowl 2013 halftime show on Sunday, Feb. 3.
Destiny's Child performed their previous hits Bootylicious and Independent Woman before singing Beyonce's solo hit, Single Ladies. The reunion was a surprise because Williams said she would be unavailable due to her committment in the touring Broadway musical Fela! The group released a single and album of old material the week before the Super Bowl. They did not perform Nuclear, their first single for the album that is comprised of previous hit love songs.
Beyonce performed Love on Top, Crazy in Love, End of Time, Baby Boy, and Halo before and after their brief reunion.
The reunion was the group's first live show since 2006, when they performed at the NBA All-Star game. The group split in 2005 so that each member could pursue solo album projects.
