Lil' Flip plans to fight the two possession charges he received on Christmas, claiming that he's licensed to carry weapons and had no illegal substances.

The Houston-bred rapper born Wesley Weston was pulled over in Louisiana on December 25th of last year for speeding. Upon searching the car, authorities found an AR-15 rifle and what they claim were marijuana-filled cigarettes.

He was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a schedule 1 narcotic (marijuana) and speeding. Yesterday, he entered a plea of not guilty on all three counts.

Flip, who is most famous for his 2002 hit "This is the Way We Ball", claims that he has a license to carry the weapon, going so far as to show his concealed handgun license to TMZ. Flip has a concealed handgun license through his home state of Texas that he claims in valid in 22 other states. Flip saysthe gun that police found is not automatic-firing and that he needs to carry a weapon for his own personal safety as Flip has been shot before.

Flip also told TMZ that the alleged blunts were nothing more than wine-flavored Black and Milds (read: delicious) and that he "knows better" than to carry drugs.

"They don't mess around in Louisiana," Flip said. "I wouldn't do anything to make me go to the big house, especially on Christmas night."

A pre-trial date has been set for April.

What do you think? Is Lil' Flip innocent? Will he go to prison? Would you wear a "Free Lil' Flip" shirt? Is riding around with an AR-15 just the way he balls? Sound off in the comments and be sure to check back with Mstarz for more on this story as it develops.
