LeBron James wants the Cleveland Cavaliers to give Tristan Thompson what he wants to stay on the team, but the Cavs continue hesitating and prolonging the decision to do whatever it takes to keep him on the team. Meanwhile, James "sub-posted" an Instagram photo of himself alongside Thompson to the Cavs with the message: "Get it done" but he also called the situation a "distraction."

But now it seems as though the Cavs' hesitation has become a decision in and of itself as the staff (head coach, David Blatt), Quicken Loans Arena and the team's website all seem to be wiping Thompson from their memory.

Throughout the summer, Thompson and the Cavs have been trying to negotiate a new deal, but their efforts have gone to waste. As reported by ESPN, when the whole situation first began, Thompson's agent, Rich Paul, was looking for a five-year, $94 million max contract, but the Cavs offered an $80 million, five-year contract instead. Thompson turned that contract down. Eventually, Thompson's demands were slightly reduced: he wanted a $53 million, three-year deal, but the Cavs didn't budge. The only offer they left on the table was the original deal. The Cavs also had a $6.8 million offer for one year, but it expired on Thursday, Oct. 1. Thompson is now officially a holdout, as per CBS Sports.

Now, it seems as though everyone has gotten over the situation, as Thompson has now become a part of the past. According to Fox Sports, when asked about Thompson's absence, head coach Blatt said, "We've got to focus on the now and here and that's what we're doing."

As reported by Chris Haynes' Twitter, The Quicken Loans Arena is ridding themselves of anything and everything Thompson related:

Now, LeBron James posted a photo on Instagram to get the Cavs to do as he says:

But James also claimed the message he posted on Instagram was not entirely for the team's management: "Throughout the negotiation process, it's always both sides," he said. "I'm not going to go to them and tell them what they should do." (Which is quite ironic given the photo he posted on the gram displayed just that...)

According to Cleveland.com, he also continued by saying:

"It's kind of like the elephant in the room all over, for everybody. Hopefully some resolve can happen sooner than later. You know, obviously, we continue to say, I continue to say how his value to us is extreme, as we saw last year in the postseason, throughout the season.

"I'm not here to talk about numbers, things of that nature, because that's for them, for both sides to figure out. The last thing you need is a distraction when you try to make a championship run. And we have that right now. And it's unfortunate for both sides that we're going through it right now as a team. It's not an excuse, we will be ready to go but hopefully something happens in the near future."

Now, hopefully something will get done, especially considering the fact that there are only 20 days left until the start of the regular season.
