Fox's '24' Spinoff: Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer, Mary Lynn Rajskub's Chloe "Refuse" Cast?

The clock will be ticking again as Fox plans a spinoff from their popular 24 franchise. Unfortunately, has it been confirmed that ex-CTU agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) and Chloe O'Brien (Mary Rajskub)have "refused to join" the new cast after the season finale of 24: Live Another Day?

As we perviously mentioned, Fox is developing a 24 spinoff, which would revolve around a new twenty-something male terrorist hunter. Executive Producer Howard Gordon confirmed the project to the sit at the recent Critics Choice Television Awards. This new character will be teamed up with a more seasoned female agent.

The spinoff will follow the traditional 24 format, each episode represents an hour of a single day. Manny Coto and Evan Katz will serve as writers and executive producers. Fox will most likely launch the spinoff as a limited series, much like Live Another Day. Sutherland would return in a cameo but would have no involvement in the series.

We also mentioned, Mary Rajskub revealed if she would only return to the 24 franchise under one condition, "I'm not buying it without Kiefer. I think you can have him sort of not there for a bit, but you have to find him eventually. All roads lead to Jack, and you can't find Jack without Chloe."

According to BBC, Sutherland reveals, "It's one of the greatest gifts I've ever been given as an actor," Sutherland added, "but it's moving on without me, I want to do other things." 

The Young Guns actor adds he still cherishes the show, "There are some movies I've made people might have enjoyed, but there were nine of them watching. And so 24 was so refreshing - the most significant thing was that it was accessible to a lot of people and to know they enjoyed it was so rewarding for me."
