Springsteen fans get the unique opportunity to purchase a piece of real estate formerly owned by the legendary Jersey musician himself: Brice Springsteen. That's right you "Born to Run" worshippers...according to The Asbury Park Press, the house in Long Branch, NJ where "the boss" composed his classic rock album is now up for sale for the price of $349,900.
Real estate agent Susan McLaughlin of Keller Williams Realty is the"Jersey Girl" in charge of selling this magical piece of property at 71/2 West End Court in Long Branch that went on the market on Friday. The "Landmark Jersey Shore Cottage," as described by McLaughlin, has five rooms, two bedrooms and one bath. The realtor stated that she's already had nearly 100 interested buyers contacting her via phone and email.
McLaughlin hopes the city of Long Branch will buy the house and turn it into a music heritage destination; "Buses of tourists stop there all the time," McLaughlin said.
This Jersey shore residence is where "the boss" was inspired to write his breakthrough album, "Born to Run" that really put him on the map. In Bruce's words from his 2005 Wings on Wheels documentary,"I was living in a small house in Long Branch New Jersey up the coast of Asbury. One day I was playing the guitar on the edge of the bed and the words "born to run came to me."
The new home owners will have the opportunity to relive that moment in that very bedroom where their idol sat and composed one of the best rock albums of all time.
McLaughlin also stated that this cozy 828 square foot home was "untathered" by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, whose wrath effected countless numbers of homes along the shoreline back in October.
The layout of the cottage is also the same inside as when Bruce resided there over 40 years ago.
This NJ landmark is a hot commodity thanks to its previous famous renter, Brucey, who will continue on with his Wrecking Ball Tour in March.
