Diane Lane & Josh Brolin Divorce: Couple Split After 8 Years of Marriage, A-List Actors Amicably Agree to Part

It's just another typical day in Hollywood, as another couple's marriage fails. At least Diane Lane, star of Under the Tuscan Sun, and Milk's Josh Brolin lasted for over 8 years. The A-listers mutually decided on divorce, reps told US Weekly on Thursday. Sources stated that the divorce "is very amicable... It's not ugly, it's just over." 

It was a failed attempt at second marriages for both Lane, who divorced actor Christopher Lambert back in 1994, and Brolin who was first married to actress Alice Adair. Maybe third time's a charm for these celebs?

People reports that the couple first met in the 1990's, but it was not love at first sight. However, when Brolin's stepmother, Barbara Streisand, stepped into her usual role as matchmaker and re-introduced the two several years later, the couple found love. Josh & Diane were married in 2004, after a year and a half engagement, and they never had children together. 

The couple was last spotted together at the "Guilt Trip" premiere on December 11th and only a month later Brolin showed up solo to the "Gangster Squad" red carpet, according to People.

Diane Lane didn't attain A-list celebrity status until her role as an adulteress in the "erotic drama film" Unfaithful, starring Richard Gear. The star, then age 35, was nominated for a Golden Globe as well as an Academy Award for "Best Actress" for her part in the film. Although she did not win either award, Lane emerged as an "acclaimed actress" and soon after starred in Under the Tuscan Sun in 2003. Lane's most recent movie, Man of Steel, is said to come out in June where she will play Martha Kent in this Superman flick.

Her counterpart, Josh Brolin, made his movie debut in the 1985 film The Goonies. It wasnt until 2007 that he recieved acclaims for his films when Brolin played the corrupt officer in American Gangster. It was the multiple Oscar-winning film No Country For Old Men that Josh attained true stardom status. Like his soon to be ex-wife, the actor also received an Oscar nomination for his performance in the 2008 film Milk. He is currently filming Sin City: A Dame to Kill For with co-star Jessica Alba. This is said to come out in October.

Although Lane & Brolin's marriage did not withstand the test of time, their careers surely have.
