Can Transformers star Megan Fox and producer Michael Bay "transform" their once tattered working relationship? Michael Bay announced today on his blog that Fox will star in Bay's live-action/CGI feature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

"TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!" he said.

This reunion comes as a bit of a shock considering their previous tension on the set of the first two Transformers movies back in 2010 where Fox boldly likened Bay to Hitler and called him "a nightmare to work for." This resulted in Meg getting a huge public dismissal from Transformers 3 ,Fox Online reported.

Setting their differences aside, EW has confirmed that Megan Fox will play the role of April O'Neil, the Turtles' human friend, in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. The movie will start shooting this Spring with the release now set for May 16, 2014. The date was pushed back to cut the budget to around $125M.

Producer Bay apparently got over Megan's harsh statement pretty fast. Before Transformers 3 was released in 2011, he announced, "I wasn't hurt, because I know that's just Megan. When you're days and months on a set, it's like a family. You say rude things and you make up."

Besides welcoming back Fox to the fam and featuring her this time around, the new TMNT movie version is going to be different from the original. As Bay's explained, "these turtles are from an alien race, and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely loveable."

When this statement from Bay sent fans into a state of hysteria around last spring, the producer insisted that they "need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script...we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world."

Bay seems like he knows what he's doing by changing up the reboot of TMNT...now lets hope he doesn't regret welcoming back "problem child" Megan Fox in "the family."
