Glenn Beck used his radio show to state his objection to a current World Wrestling Entertainment storyline, calling them "stupid wrestling people," and as a response has been invited into the ring to state his case further. The conservative commentator feels that the over-the-top portrayals of a Tea Party wrestler, Jack Swagger, and his Vietnam War veteran manager, Zeb Colter, are clearly an example of anti-conservative partisanship. The entertainers who portray these characters, Jake Hager and Wayne Cowan, released a video exemplifying their form of entertainment through a promo and then break character to invite the 49-year-old Beck to the upcoming Monday Night Raw in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. He declined the invitation, saying, "Unfortunately, I am currently booked doing anything else."

During his Friday radio show, Glenn Beck criticized the WWE for making villain or heal characters into Tea Partier and suggested that conservative fans take their money elsewhere. Beck said the following:

"You're making a villain out of what? Probably 80 percent of your audience who's tired as it is of being miscast? They're tired of this...I'm sick and tired of being miscast. I am sick and tired of it. It is lazy at best. And I certainly am not going to give any more time or my money to any organization that is miscasting, is making it harder for me and my family to stand up for what I believe in. [...] We've talked about this for awhile. Put your money where your heart is ... You're gonna be mocked by people you think are friendly to you? No way!"

The WWE released the following press release, addressing Beck's disapproval and formally inviting the political commentator to jump into the ring himself: "WWE is giving Beck the opportunity to address our 14 million weekly viewers and our global fan base, as he believes we are offending our 'conservative' fans with this storyline."

The press release was followed by the video from "Jack Swagger" and "Zeb Colter," more aggressively appealing to Beck for a rebuttal. "We have about 60 characters on our show," performer Wayne Cowan says as "Colter" in the video, referring to Monday Night Raw. "A lot more than say NCIS or Glee. But we're not that much different. Some of our characters are really likeable, and some are detestable."

It looks like Beck won't be jumping into the ring any time soon, but he will most likely address the issue on his radio show this upcoming week.
