Loved by fans but cancelled too soon, many have wished Fox had granted a Season 2 to the cult classic, Firefly. At the 2015 New York Comic Con, Nathan Fillion (Captain Mal Reynolds), Alan Tudyk (Hoban Washburne), Gina Torres (Zoë Washburne) and Jewel Staite (Kaylee Frye) were on-hand to discuss the possibilities.
The last time we saw Gina Torres, time was ticking away as Jessica believed she was going to be voted out of the law firm. Remembering his mother's betrayal, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) revealed to Dr. Paula Agard (Christina Cole) how his family was torn apart. Mike (Patrick J. Adams) went to Father Walker to confess his sins and fears of losing Rachel (Megan Markle). In order save Jessica, Harvey had to resign from the firm. After Mike handed in his resignation, Rachel watched helplessly as her fiancee was placed under arrest by the police.
As transcribed by Variety, the cast members answer if they ever consider returning to the sci-fi/western program if the show was granted a sophomore season. Mind you, this comes at a time when Yahoo! saved the cancelled Community and gave them another season. Fox has also been reviving The X-Files, along with Prison Break.
The former cast members agreed unanimously that they would be all return to star in a second season if it was ever offered.
Fillion stated, "Full-time, please."
Staite bounced back, "Otherwise they would cast new people."
The crowd cheered when Torres responded with, "And nobody wants that."
The Stargate actress adds, "I learned that if the network tells you that no one is watching the show, sometimes they are wrong."
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the Castle actor describes how the show taught him how to rely on the rest of your cast. "I didn't know how to be the captain of a spaceship, but I have eight people looking at me and calling me 'Captain'. I needed them."
Readers, would you like to see Firefly back for a second season?
