Madonna Is A Money Spinner – She Was Announced The Richest Pop Star On Earth

Pop icon Madonna is the highest earner in music according to Billboard Magazine. She was named the wealthiest pop star of 2012.

Billboard Magazine announced that she garnered $34.5million in revenue in 2012. This is mainly due to her world tour that generated more money.

The magazine released its annual Top 40 music rich list. The list was topped by Madonna. Her MDNA tour fetched $32million. She generated 90 percent of her income through tours.

Her tour tickets are highly priced at $160. She also had topped this list in 2008.

EntertainmentWise reported that she is the only woman in the Top 10 list. Taylor Swift went down to the fifteenth position.

Bruce Springsteen stood second to her with $33.4million.  He earned about 92 percent with his stadium and arena tour that lead to merchandise sales.

Third richest earner was Pink Floyd's Roger Waters and they too were earning from The Wall Live tour.

Rock band Van Halen took in a fourth spot in the rich list with $20million with their tour that supported their "A Different Kind Of Truth" album. The fifth one was country music veteran Kenny Chesney followed by the Dave Matthews Band, country stars Tim McGraw and Jason Aldean.
