Rock band Nine Inch Nails and lead singer Trent Reznor have announced they are returning in 2013. This summer and fall the band will be touring and also coming out with new material. According to Trent Reznor, "The band is reinventing itself from scratch."
Other members of the new Nine Inch Nails will include Reznor, Eric Avery of Jane's Addiction, Adrian Belew of King Crimson, and Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv, and previous Nine Inch Nail members Alessandro Cortini and Ilan Rubin. In a note on his website Reznor said, "The first shows will begin this summer, followed by a full-on arena tour of the U.S. this fall and lots of other dates worldwide to follow through 2014."
Reznor also told Nine Inch Nail fans, ""I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of playing a show. Calls were made to some friends, lots of new ideas were discussed, and a show was booked - which led to another, which somehow led to a lot of shows."
Reznor will be a busy man this year as his current project, How to Destroy Angels, with wife Mariqueen Maandig and longtime collaborators Rob Sheridan and Atticus Ross will be releasing a new album, Welcome Obvivion March 5. They will also be touring in April.
The Nine Inch Nails front man has ventured outside the typical album music scoring movies and video games. Reznor wrote music for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" as well as working on the music with composer Atticus Ross for hit movies "The Social Network" and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo."
Get ready music fans because the band known as Nine Inch Nails are reinventing themselves and you're probably going to want to listen.
