WWE taped the October 15, 2015 episode of Thursday Night SmackDown on Tuesday from Cincinnati, and the main event pits The New Day against Dean Ambrose and The Dudley Boyz. We've got full spoilers from the episode ahead, so let's see what's in store.
The episode begins with a promo from Bo Dallas, who does his usual "inspirational" routine. His opponent, Roman Reigns, comes out and promptly squashes him. Afterwards, Reigns grabs a mic and cuts a promo about his impending match with Bray Wyatt at Hell in a Cell. Wyatt then comes on the TitanTron to interrupt him and promises he has something in store for Monday Night Raw.
King Barrett and Sheamus defeat Cesaro and Neville when Mr. Money in the Bank distracts the referee, which allows Barrett to drop Cesaro with a Bullhammer. The Celtic Warrior then covers The Swiss Superman for the pin.
We learn that Dolph Ziggler will face Rusev later tonight with Summer Rae as the special guest referee. In an interview, she says she will be impartial and call the match down the middle.
Kevin Owens squashes Zack Ryder with Ryback at ringside. The Big Guy tries to attack the Intercontinental Champion after the bell, but Owens bails.
Dolph Ziggler defeats Rusev thanks to an assist from Summer Rae, who started out impartial but eventually sided with The Show Off. She slaps Rusev and Ziggler delivers a Zig Zag. Summer does a fast count on the pin. After the bell, she tries to cozy up to Ziggler, but he blows her off and says he is done playing these sorts of games.
The Wyatt Family (presumably Luke Harper and Braun Strowman) defeat The Prime Time Players in a short match by submission.
Charlotte defeats Alicia Fox with the Figure Eight. Team Bella attacks Charlotte and Becky Lynch after the match until Paige runs out and saves them. Backstage, she promises to make things right with the two women, and the camera then cuts to Natalya laid out on the floor.
Dean Ambrose and The Dudley Boyz beat The New Day by disqualification when the latter team uses Xavier Woods' trombone as a weapon. The three men beat down Ambrose and the Dudleys and stand tall to close the show.
