Carl Pistorius Charged: Brother of Oscar Pistorius 'Blade Runner' Faces Own Homicide Trial, Charged With 'Culpable' Murder of Motorcyclist

It looks like Oscar Pistorius isn't the only member of the Pistorius family in trouble with the law. The "Blade Runner" was just released from jail on bail after being charged with premeditated murder of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Now, Oscar's older brother Carl Pistorius is facing a culpable homicide charge, or unlawful negligent killing of another person, in a 2008 accident that resulted in a motorcyclist being killed.

The charges against Carl were originally dropped, but have since been reinstated. According to Oldwage, Carl "deeply regrets" the incident. Oldwage also said, ""There is no doubt that Carl is innocent and the charge will be challenged in court."

Carl was seen sitting in the courtroom as his younger brother Oscar was facing murder charges in what has become one of the most publicized court cases for an athlete since the O.J. Simpson murder charges. Oscar Pistorius' case garnered worldwide media attention due to him being a Paralympic gold-medalist and running in the 2012 Olympic summer games in London for South Africa despite being a double amputee.

Oscar just got released from prison after four days of bail hearings. Oscar claims that he accidentally shot Steenkamp after he mistook her for an intruder. However, Steenkamp's parents aren't buying that excuse. Barry Steenkamp told the Afrikaans-language Beeld newspaper that Oscar Pistorius will have to "live with his conscience" and will "suffer" if his side of the story proves to be false. June 4 is Oscar's next court appearance in what is sure to be a media circus.

It turns out, Oscar's older brother Carl actually appeared in court for his own trial on Thursday (one day before Oscar was granted bail) and his next court appearance is at the end of March.

There is no doubt the Pistorius family is going through quite a bit right now and will have a rough few months ahead as Carla and Oscar both face charges in court.
