October 2013 marks the anniversary of when entertainment mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs began making waves throughout the television industry, starting with the music network, Revolt TV. A joint venture television deal between Revolt Films and ABC has been inked and the entrepreneur will produce his first scripted comedy for the family-friendly network. The show is entitled The Hustle, and the lead character was inspired by the life of executive Sarah Snedecker. Snedecker is an exec at Revolt Films and previously worked as Combs' assistant, says AllHipHop.
The single-camera sitcom will follow a small town girl who moves to the big city and landed a dream job while enjoying the privilege of working with a street smart, billionaire boss. The comedy is expected to be adventurous, exciting and glamorous.
The Hustle received a script agreement with a penalty attached, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Snedecker will consult and produce while Jeremy Garelick, Stacey Harman and Combs will be executive producers for the series. Garelick and Harman are to write the script, and Garelick will direct. A release date has not been set since they're still in the developmental phase of the project.
Ironically or not, the one word that the entertainer knows is hustle and with the anticipated buzz throughout Hollywood about the upcoming comedy, the businessman has everything to prove. If he can put together a music channel, producing a sitcom should be a piece of cake.
In other Diddy news, the mogul's group, Puff Daddy & The Family is slated to perform at the Revolt Music Conference in Miami Beach. The conferences website lists the performance line up as, Robin Thicke, Travis Scott, Bia, Post Malone, Tory Lanez, Dej Loaf and Jidenna. RMC starts tonight through the18th, at the Fontainebleau Hotel and Resort. The exec tweeted fans telling them to register now!
