The amusement for the day is very intriguing, or is it the muse of the day? Anyway, Toronto rapper and sometimes actor, Drake, covers W Magazine for the sake of art, music and entertainment. The $40 million dollar rapper admits art is his new passion. The entertainer was commissioned by luxury auction house Sotheby's to create a soundtrack for their African-American exhibition that will include art by Jean Michel Basquiat.
"The art at Sotheby's moved me like a song would," Drake says, "I saw music in those paintings. I now try to treat each single as a piece of art. I try to attach the sound that I'm making to an image in my mind," he said during an interview.
On being a muse he confessed, "It's the first time I've ever been a muse, but I'm used to collaborating. Curiosity is the best part of working with any kind of artist. You want to see how somebody else's process works. It's like learning a secret."
The secret to his success is still unclear, but what we do know is the Canadian native was raised in a predominately Jewish neighborhood to a mother who was an educator, had a Bar Mitzvah and played minor league hockey for the Weston Red Wings. It's safe to bet that he learned about work ethics at an early age.
After a mildly successful career as an actor on popular teen show Degrassi: The Next Generation, the lyrical genius was asked by producers to decide which career he wanted since he couldn't do both at the same time. Well, guess what? Drake chose music.
In 2010, his first mixtape, entitled So Far Gone, led to the release of the studio album, Thank Me Later. He toured the entire year and two years later, won a Grammy for Best Rap Album Of The Year. It's almost a given that Drake has been consistently charting hits on Billboard 100. He took advantage of the opportunity to host the ESPY's and gained respect as a comedian and award show host. He was also a hugely successful act on Saturday Night Live in 2014.
Earlier this year, he dried up a beef with Meek Mills, in what seemed to be a loosing battle for Nicki Minaj's boyfriend.

Reportedly, the 17-track mixtape with Future, If You're Reading This, is the first album to go platinum in 2015 and the same month he dropped, What A Time To Be Alive. If he releases the highly anticipated album, Views From The Six, he'll maintain his position as man of the year says, Business Insider.
For now, deals with Apple Music and Nike may have to take a back seat to the scandalous media reports about the star. The million dollar questions: Are he and Serena Williams dating? Did he really leave Rihanna broken hearted?
Only time will tell which is more beneficial to his bank account, either headline stories or endorsements.
