Punk rock band Green Day is all set to perform at the South by Southwest festival, March 15 with new music.
The band will also be screening their two documentaries during the film portion of the festival.
This will be the band's first gig after its frontman Billie Joe Armstrong went into rehab, September 2012.
Green Day's "Broadway Idiot" will be premiered at the festival along with their documentary "¡Cuatro!" The band will be later performing at the Moody Theatre.
"Broadway Idiot is a documentary following Billie Joe Armstrong's journey from punk rock to Broadway," said their Facebook page. While "¡Cuatro!" documents the band's making of the "Uno!", "Dos!" and "Tré!" albums.
The band will be touring late March. The band delayed its tour that was slated to start in January after its frontman had to enter rehab. They will also be touring Europe late May after they are done with their North American leg of the tour.
Armstrong suffered a meltdown while performing at Las Vegas' iHeartRadio Music Festival, September 2012. He stopped playing midway and dissed the promoters of the event and later smashed his guitar and went off stage.
The band later issued a statement clarifying that their event was not cut short by the promoters and they apologized.
The band will be starting with their tour March 28, 2013.
