After getting a self proclaimed victory over Los Angeles' Staples Center in his war on meat, vegetarian singer Morrissey is at it again. The singer has reportedly canceled his Tuesday night appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" because the stars of A&E's "Duck Dynasty" are also scheduled to appear.
As Mstarz reported days ago, Morrissey is claiming the Staples Center will go completely meatless for his March 1 show. It seems now Morrissey has his eyes set on late night TV. E! News is reporting that the singer will not even share a stage with the "Duck Dynasty" cast because they made their money selling supplies to duck hunters.
"Morrissey is thankful for being invited to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow, Feb. 26," Morrissey's reps said in a statement posted on true-to-you.net. "However, he cannot morally be on a television program where the cast members of 'Duck Dynasty' will also be guests. Morrissey would be honored to play the show, if 'Duck Dynasty' were removed."
So now the singer is demanding Jimmy Kimmel remove "Duck Dynasty" from the show or he will not perform.
"As far as my reputation is concerned, I can't take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers," Morrissey added. "If Jimmy cannot dump 'Duck Dynasty,' then we must step away."
No, this is not satire, this is actual news. Morrissey really is this difficult to work with apparently. Morrissey clearly doesn't like the fact that the Robertson family from "Duck Dynasty" has made a lot of money on their Duck Commander business.
How will Kimmel respond? Most likely with hilarity. I'm sure the late night host is loving the media attention this is sure to bring and he will probably benefit more by not having the singer on the show. Expect Kimmel to milk this controversy for all it's worth. Kimmel was expected to have Morrissey on the show Tuesday night (Feb. 26). Tune in to see if Morrissey shows up.
