Now that Basketball Wives LA's season is over, some fans are probably wondering how Brandi Maxiell is doing since she may be booted from future seasons of the VH1 reality show. In a recent update, Brandi claimed that she and her husband Jason are still working on things in their marriage and she cleared the air on Jason's past infidelities. Maxiell says that he didn't cheat during their time on the show; his cheating all happened before they were even married.
If you recall, Brandi and Jason's relationship played a major part on this season. The two had separated and even lived on opposite coasts from each other. On where her marriage stands now, Brandi told VH1, "Today, we are working on things. We're not 100%, we're not perfect like we once were before. It just takes time, you know we're doing what we need to do, what we feel that we need to do, what's best and I'm really taking my time with it, because I don't want to jump into a situation and then it falls back to what it was before."
Brandi also claimed that she isn't rushing to get back with her husband. She explained that she is taking things one step at a time, and doing what's best for her.
"I'm not rushing because the people want us to get back together, or he wants to. I'm doing what I feel is best for me, because I was the one that was hurt. So we're just taking our time with it. But, I can say that we are a million times better than when I was filming."
When it comes to marrying a NBA star, a realtiy is that there will be a lot of groupies, tests and trials in one's marriage. Brandi isn't a stranger to other women trying to get with her man. During her time on Basketball Wives LA, Brandi, along with her best friend, Malaysia Pargo, and others confessed that their men have cheated on them in the past.
Brandi wanted to make it clear that her husband didn't cheat on her while they were married during this season. She explained: "When that stuff went down [with Jason and I] it was before we were married. It was just when he was fresh in the game and we've dealt with you know the groupies, the sidepieces, whatever people want to call it. So, I wasn't dealing with it in my marriage at that moment with Draya and Malaysia last season."
As to what caused the couple to split, Brandi claimed that she wasn't doing things for her husband after she had their son. She admitted that Jason was neglected at times. They stopped going on dates and paying each other attention. Postpartum depression didn't help either. Brandi even blamed herself for her husband's selfish actions, and said:
"When you forget about him, and you neglect your husband, you know, they get neglected and they do stupid things, and I think that's what happened. Even though I feel like it was my fault on what happened, he was supposed to be responsible enough to be my husband, stay faithful and stay, and continue to be the husband that he's supposed to be but we're here. . But, you know, we're here."
As for her future on the show, Brandi still doesn't know where she stands with executive producer, Shaunie O'Neal. Shaq's ex-wife revealed during the reunion show that a lot of the Los Angeles women were not going to be able to return when the new season starts.
Brandi's confidence grew this season and she got turnt up a lot! She will probably go down in the history of Basketball Wives LA as the woman who called her boss, a "B*tch."
