Beyonce, Jay-Z Blow Off Oscars to Have Dinner with 'Sex and the City' Star Sarah Jessica Parker in New York [VIDEO]

Beyonce and Jay-Z didn't just miss the 85th Annual Academy Awards, but they blew them off. Instead of going to the 2013 Oscars, the singing power couple were in New York having dinner with Sarah Jessica Parker according to the New York Post.

Beyonce and Jay-Z had dinner with the "Sex and the City" star and five others on the Lower East Side Sunday night. According to a source who spoke to The Post, Beyonce and Jay-Z completely blew off Hollywood's big night. Heck, they didn't even turn a TV on to see what was going on.

"They didn't even have it on a TV screen," said the source. "They were there until well after 1 a.m. with their friends, laughing and eating."

Beyonce's absence didn't stop her sister Solange from partying it up though. Solange was seen partying at Vanity Fair's Oscars party.

Could it be Mr. and Mrs. Carter no longer are a partying couple? They do have a child, so maybe the parents just want to settle down and avoid all the Hollywood drama. The couple also are very busy in the upcoming months with their music careers.

Beyonce is getting ready to go on her "Mrs. Carter Show" world tour in April, while Jay-Z is headlining London's Wireless Festival and going on his "Legends of the Summer" North American tour with Justin Timberlake in a few months.

Beyonce is also just coming off her Super Bowl halftime performance and her HBO documentary. "Life is But a Dream" scored the highest ratings for an HBO documentary since 2004.

The power couple doesn't need to go to any Hollywood events to increase their standing in Tinsel Town, but their absence from the 2013 Oscars is still surprising. Maybe even more surprising is that they missed the Oscars to have dinner with Sarah Jessica Parker.
