Heavy rock band Metallica may not play their complete album set during their performance at the Orion Music + More, unlike last year when they played full albums.
This was revealed by none other than the band's drummer, Lars Ulrich, who when asked by Revolver if they would be playing a complete album set said, "If I was a betting man, which I'm not, I would probably not put too much money on that. I think you've got to be careful that it doesn't become something that people expect from you every year, especially when you only put records out every five years like we do. We'll run out of records to play at some point pretty quick."
He also said that he is conscious that their debut studio album "Kill 'Em All" will be celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. He said they have not yet made up their minds to play the full album.
Ulrich also said he had no doubts in his mind about Orion Music festival continuing this year too. "We had a great f**kin' weekend, and it seemed like everybody else had a really fun weekend. I don't think it has to be much more intellectualized than that."
He also revealed that last year's festival was filled with memorable moments as he was able to watch several bands perform. He also said he was anxious to watch Red Hot Chili Peppers, Deftones, Death and Dillinger Escape Plan this year.
Ulrich said that he was a fan of Canadian rock duo, "Japandroids." "My 14-year-old has turned me on to Japandroids. I've heard some of their stuff, which is pretty amazing."
He also revealed that he had to take a punch when he was "hanging out during the Black Flag gig." "We actually saw them in New Jersey around '84 or '85. That was a very special night, because up 'til now-I'm not saying it won't happen again-but up 'til now, that's the only time I've been hardcore punched. We were hanging out at the Black Flag gig, and one of the bouncers asked us to leave. And I gave him a pretty obnoxious remark back, and the motherf**ker just hit me hard in the stomach," said Ulrich. The present incarnation of Black Flag, now called Flag will be performing at this year's music festival.
