'Sleepy Hollow' Season 3 Ep 4 Spoilers: Twitter Reacts Nikki Reed/Betsy Ross Twist!

Fox continues Season 3 of the supernatural drama, Sleepy Hollow. In last night's Episode 4, as the fight against Pandora (Shannyn Sossamon) continued, Twitter had lots to say about the relationship between Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Betsy Ross (Nikki Reed)?

In our previous recap, Pandora unleashed the Ripper against Abbie and Ichabod. While Daniel and Abbie teasing about going out on a date, Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) and Joe Corbin (Zach Appelman) continue to search for clues on the mystery of their artifact. In order to stop Ripper, Ichabod sacrificed himself and felt the Ripper's blade before he could inject the poison. Pandora then discovered Abbie's ultimate fear; losing Ichabod as he almost died in her arms.

In our recent recap, Jenny, Ichabod, and Abbie teamed up against the Tooth Fairy, who was stalking innocent children. Abbie confessed to Jenny about their missing father, but her sister already knew. After being sent to the hospital, Pandora played with Abbie's head again, talking about missing fathers. While under anesthesia, Ichabod let slip to Abbie that he had a passionate kiss with Betsy.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Clifton Campbell explains Betsy's role, ""Ross is a part of George Washington's Culper Ring. Washington was aware of these supernatural forces and of the ploy that they were trying to prevent the birth of our nation. She was a deep, ever-trusted agent in his service and even Crane didn't know what the true nature of her relationship with Washington was - which was to protect Crane, the future witness, from getting hurt or from being co-opted into the supernatural. But she wasn't herself part of the supernatural. She was a warrior against it. And the story mostly at this point is the relationship that Crane had with Betsy and we have a really fun, interesting way to let that play out over the course of the season."
