After Morrissey decided to cancel his appearance on last night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" due to show's other guests, cast members of "Duck Dynasty," Kimmel took the opportunity to mock the "Moz" and vegetarianism in general with a special video segment. In the clip from last night's show, the duck hunters from "Duck Dynasty acted out a fake clip from their reality show but with vegetables instead of birds. This of course was funny and a good jab at the melodramatic Morrissey, but the clip was also somewhat of a general attack at the vegetarian lifestyle as well. Jimmy Kimmel has always been known to speak his mind on his show, but attacking a healthy eating choice seems kind of strange, don't you think?
So the video is short and straight to the point, but the last line where they refer to vegetables as "Yuppie Food" is kind of of-putting, right? I mean, that does not even make that much sense. Vegetables are literally eaten by everyone. It is a very common and important food group. Of course this clip was completely all in jest but I am positive there will be some sort of backlash from either Morrissey himself or a vegan/vegetarian organization. What do you think?
Please take as much time as you need to make fun of Morrissey. The guy is a legend but also notoriously hard to deal with on a daily basis. His performance was supposed to be the start of a rescheduled tour, but he would not even go through with his second chance. Sure this is pretty much the appeal of the singer, but honestly whatever dude. So yes, this video was great for making fun of Morrissey's reasons for cancelling his appearance.
As Mstarz reported yesterday:
"Morrissey is thankful for being invited to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow, Feb. 26," Morrissey's reps said in a statement posted on true-to-you.net. "However, he cannot morally be on a television program where the cast members of 'Duck Dynasty' will also be guests. Morrissey would be honored to play the show, if 'Duck Dynasty' were removed."
So now the singer is demanding Jimmy Kimmel remove "Duck Dynasty" from the show or he will not perform.
"As far as my reputation is concerned, I can't take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers," Morrissey added. "If Jimmy cannot dump 'Duck Dynasty,' then we must step away."
