RHONY's veterans Ramona Singer, LuAnn de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan have refused to sign their new contracts for season eight, as a show of unity until boss Bravo Andy Cohen ups the ante. The trio has been shut out from production until they seal their deals.
Do you want to know what or who is the hold up? Apparently, the ladies aren't too pleased with Bethanny Frankel getting the larger portion of the pie. Radaronline reports, some of the housewives expressed displeasure at Frankel's return, although it ultimately led to an increase in ratings for the show. Frankel is already a successful Skinny Girl Cocktail mogul; so the network paid for her to play, so to speak.
Pagesix confirms and says, Frankel scored a $1 million payday to return to the Bravo franchise last season, which gave the show a much needed boost. But "the other women aren't even close" in salary, a source informed the news agency.
As a result, "LuAnn, Sonja and Ramona have banded together in holding out for more."
Another source says, "They have not come to terms. The negotiations are always down to the last minute but now the show's started filming" with Bethenny, Dorinda Medley and Carole Radziwill. "The others are not filming because they have not signed their contracts."
The real skinny is that Countess de Lesseps may be one of the first to fold, since she has recently purchased a new home and part of her story line would be, decorating her new digs. Sonja's money woes are well documented so, she is also playing with fire by holding out. We all know she needs the money so that she can continue to live on fantasy island.
Now, Ramona is on another level when it comes to chasing paper. On October 5, she's managed to wrestle her million dollar Manhattan condo back from her ex husband Mario Singer and it's safe to say, she is the one who can do without a Bravo contract.
These ladies better play fair before we hear them scream, "Who moved my cheese?"
