Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence's Oscar: 'Warm Bodies' Star is "Thrilled" For Ex's Best Actress Academy Award, The Two Reunite in new 'X-Men' Film

Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult split up a few months ago but the Jack the Giant Killer star says he is proud of his ex being awarded the Oscar for Best Actress. The 23-year-old Hoult said that Silver Linings Playbook was "great" and agrees with the recognition that Lawrence is getting for her performance. "I'm very happy for her. I'm thrilled!" he told E! After the two broke up after a low-profile romance, Lawrence said, "He is honestly my best friend, and hopefully I'm his best friend, too." The 22-year-old Academy Award winning actress added, "He's my favorite person to be around and he makes me laugh harder than anybody."

Nicholas Hoult has been seeing mounting fame from his recent role in Warm Bodies and Jack the Giant Slayer. Clearly Jennifer has seen more fame, but it looks like Hoult has been climbing that Hollywood ladder ever since the two star met on the set of 2010's X-Men: First Class. Since then, Nicholas obtained these two recent leading roles and will be starring opposite Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road in 2014. You might also recognize Hoult from his portrayal of a slick student trying who tried to seduce Colin Firth in 2009's award winning film A Single Man. Mostly, we all remember him as the child who taught Hugh Grant how to be an adult in 2002's About a Boy.

Jennifer has been starring opposite some of today's sexiest Hollywood hunks as of recently, Bradley Cooper, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are clearly at the top of that list. But let us take a look at Hoult's most recent films, Warm Bodies and Jack the Giant Killer: the leading ladies in these flicks are not huge stars, but are poised for a breakout. His zombie-flick features Teresa Palmer and Analeigh Tipton. Both gorgeous and talented actresses and Palmer is even Hoult's love interest. Plus, the classic "beanstalk" tale has Eleanor Tomlinson as the Princess to Hoult's Jack. Again, not popular celebrities, but they are all actresses to look out for in terms of talent and sex appeal. My point is that Nicholas can find a new girlfriend pretty easily considering the co-stars he has been working with.

 The upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past will see the former couple reunited as Beast and Mystique. Will the characters be shown as lovers like the first film or will that be written out? As far as Hoult is concerned, he has no idea, saying, "We'll wait and see how the relationship develops." The superhero film is set between two time periods so it is possible that the love story could be nonexistent. It looks like we'll just have to wait and see.
