According to the Comic's Comic, Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock put on an impromptu performance for the lucky patrons of New York City's The Comedy Cellar last night and hinted at a possible tour.
The surprise set by Chapelle became a comedy fan's wet dream when veteran Rock joined him on the stage.
Aw, you lucky motherfu**ers ," Rock reportedly told the audience.
The two traded jokes about President Barack Obama, recording artist Prince and fellow comedian Kevin Hart. At one point the two texted Jay-Z and unsuccessfully attempted to hav him meet them for a spaghetti dinner after the show. As the show went on, the duo began to talk about a possible co-headlining show.
This could be the show," said Chappelle.
"I'm in," responded Rock.
Rock admitted to having prior obligations that would keep the tour on ice for the immediate future, but said he would be ready to go after that.
"After next Tuesday, I'm free for like eleven years," joked Chappelle.
"I've got time between now and the movie," replied Rock. "By Halloween, I could do dates."
As Rock and Chapelle were two of the biggest names in comedy for years on end, this is not the first time that the idea of a tag-team supershow has been brought up.
Rock told New York Magazine in 2012 that he had "been talking to Chappelle a lot. Been trying to get Chappelle to go on tour."
As of this writing there is no official announcement of a Chappele-Rock tour. All of this is merely speculative.
