Could Raven-Symoné possibly get fried from The View over a petition? Well, a petition on The Change.org addressed to Barbra Walters are making their rounds demanding that the childhood actress gets booted off the show for her countless insensitive statements on the show.
The petition started by Che Scott-Heron has gained nearly one-hundred thousand followers in hopes to get some change on the ABC daytime talk show.
Che wrote, "Raven Symone has been spouting her ignorant and self-hating spiel on the view for Long enough, from stating that she wouldn't hire somebody for having a ghetto name, to openly complaining about reverse racism, the final straw was her comment about the recent viral video of the school police officer assaulting the student, where Raven Symone said "get off your phone in school then". African Americans and black people around the diaspora need a voice representative of their views and not a voice representative of what white people want us to say. We need strong black role models in prominent positions on television an Raven Symone cannot provide that. That is why I ask that we petition to remove her from The View."
In a Hot Topic segment on After The View, Raven addressed Deputy Ben Fields body slamming a student in a Spring Valley High School classroom in South Carolina.
"The girl was told multiple times to get off of her phone. There's no right or reason for him to be doing this type of harm, but at the same time, you gotta follow the rules in school. First of all, why are there cellphones in school? This shouldn't even be a problem to begin with and he shouldn't been acting like that on top of it," she said.
Oct. 9, the 29-year-old was under fire for stating that she wouldn't hire someone with a "ghetto" name, "I'm not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea. It's just not going to happen. I'm not going to hire you."
Should she get the boot?
