Since the season finale of "American Horror Story: Asylum" fans have been waiting to hear where season three will take place. Star of seasons one and two, Dylan McDermott, may have accidentally revealed the setting of season three.
For those who aren't fans of the FX hit show, "American Horror Story" is an anthology series with each new season set as a self-contained miniseries. New location, new story, new characters, and new everything. Except the actors. Seasons one and two had a lot of the same actors, but they just portrayed different characters in entirely different stories.
There has been a lot of speculation about season three of the Ryan Murphy horror franchise. What actors will be returning? What will the story be? Where will the show take place? So when McDermott potentially revealed a spoiler to E! Online, fans got excited. When asked about the casting of "Misery" star Kathy Bathes and how perfect she is for a role in "American Horror Story", McDermott said, "She really is. All the witches of Salem...there's plenty of them!"
McDermott is remarking about the infamous Salem Witch Trials. So did he reveal the possible story and location of season three? Possibly, but no one has confirmed anything yet.
There is plenty still up in the air for season three of "American Horror Story." Even McDermott's role, if any, is up in the air. Rumors were running rampant about McDermott not being in season three after he accepted a role in CBS's pilot series "Hostages." According to E! Online, McDermott told them that he isn't sure yet if he will be returning for season three.
Franchise regulars Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson have already reportedly been recruited by the show to return for season three. There is no word yet on whether or not star Zachary Quinto will be returning.
For now it seems fans of the FX horror series will have to be satisfied with the possible spoiler from McDermott. However, no official announcements have been made yet, so for now it's all speculation and rumors.
How would you feel about season three of "American Horror Story" being set in Salem?
