AMC 'Preacher' Promo: Twitter Reacts Dominic Cooper/Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun/Cassidy Debut

AMC presented the first live-action promo of writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon's Preacher. Adapted by collaborators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Twitter had lots to say about Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer and Joe Gilgun as Cassidy in their trailer debut.

As we previously mentioned here, Preacher follows Jesse Custer, a man of the cloth, who loses his faith after being possessed by a supernatural creature named Genesis. A hybrid of angel and demon, Genesis takes control of Preacher, causing him to unwillingly kill his entire congregation and flatten his church. With newfound powers, Custer journeys across the U.S., with his ex-lover Tulip O'Hare (Ruth Negga) and the hard-drinking Irish vampire Cassidy (Gilgun), to find God.

According to Bleeding Cool, viewers should be very excited about the actor playing Cassidy, "Gilgun critically broke out in the UK in the Shane Meadows film and TV series This Is England, but got a massive geek boost playing Rudy in the latter series of Misfits, the superfiction TV show that also co-starred Ruth Negga, cast as Tulip."
