DJ Tiësto, one of the biggest names in electronic dance music right now, recently made the commitment to "Own the Night" in Las Vegas...and just Vegas with his new residency at the MGM Grand Hotel this year, Rolling Stone reports.

Looking to take over the EDM club scene in Las Vegas, upcoming Hakkasan Nightclub at the MGM Grand just announced that they have signed Tiesto to an exclusive 20-month residency, according to WRR. The dJ will perform over 40 dates at the highly anticipated new megaclub and 20 more at the Wet Republic Ultra Pool.

"I'm going to dedicate my year to Las Vegas. Just Vegas, maybe a couple of festivals. I haven't decided yet," Tiësto tells Rolling Stone regarding his new partnership. "With the scene blowing up in America, Vegas is so much fun now. It's the right time to do it. I do everything on my gut feeling, and I felt like it's gonna be awesome there."

In addition to going with his "gut feeling," the superstar dj is also excited that this residency, beginning in April, will free him up to spend more time producing music and develop in-house collaborations.

"I can be more in the studio with artists [this way] instead of just bouncing tracks back and forth, and really produce other people's albums and songs. So that's going to be the biggest change," he says. "It doesn't matter if they're famous or not - I just want to meet other creative people who can maybe bring something different to the studio than what I have. I think that's the most important thing for me."

The new upcoming venue entitled Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub, where Tiesto will call home for the next 20 months, has five levels that holds more than 7,000 people, WRR states. Winning in the bidding war against Wynn group a few weeks ago, Hakkasan has convinced Calvin Harris to leave his previous post and sign with them. Tiësto is the second big name to lock in with Hakkasan, inching them closer towards their goal of solidifying themselves as one of the "big players" in the EDM scene in Vegas.

According to DJ Tiesto, "MGM Grand is the new destination for electronic dance music and I'm excited to be part of this thrilling time."he told Rolling Stone. "They want to make it an experience...the production inside the club is going to be amazing."

Tiësto plans to deliver a new show each week to keep audiences on their toes. "I think nowadays, with people having mobile phones and the Internet, you have to be even more aware that people see the show even before they come. You have to make sure you can always surprise them every time you do a production," he says.

Although Tiesto is making sacrifices by posting up exclusively in Vegas for a time period that includes the entirety of the summer, he believes that bypassing places like Ibiza, Spain (arguably the dance capital of the world), will be worth it in the end. He's stated that he's already been to Ibiza for the past 10 years and is looking for a "new challenge."

As Rolling Stone notes, Tiesto's move doesn't come as too much of a shock. It was foreshadowed back In 2011 when he was speaking to the magazine about his "College Life" tour across college universities and admitted that after two decades of nonstop touring around the globe, he was looking to settle down a bit.

As one of Tiesto's track title reads, "work hard, play hard, " and after all of his constant touring, 20 months in Sin City sounds like a fun way for the dj to play for a while.
