'The Flash' Season 2 Episode 5 Recap Grant Gustin, Danielle Panabaker "Darkness And The Light"

The CW network continues Season 2 of The Flash. In Episode 5, after the events of of the first season finale, will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), the scarlet speedster, and Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) be able to stop the The Darkness and the Light?

In Earth 2, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is giving a speech about metahumans when Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears). The crowd listens intently as Jay accuses Wells of creating Zoom. Jay then blames Jay for not doing his job of being a superhero. 

Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin meet Wells, who's not too pleased to meet them. Wells is actually here to help Barry stop Zoom. Caitlin and Cisco believe if they listen to Wells, more people will die.

Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) enters the room shooting at Wells. In slow-motion, Barry grabs the bullets before they hit Wells. Joe and Barry have to trust this is a different Wells and not the Reverse-Flash. Joe then hands Iris (Candice Patton) a gun, just in case Wells cannot be trusted.  

While Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) flirts with Barry, Cisco notices Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) and tries to get her number. After getting rejected, Cisco sees a bank robbery committed by a female Doctor Light. Wells has a plan to capture Dr. Light but Jay doesn't agree with his plan.

As Barry finally asks out Patty, Cisco isn't happy with Wells using his office space. Cisco reveals how Reverse-Flash killed him. Wells is okay if Cisco doesn't like him, but they have to stop Zoom. At the next bank heist, the Flash meets Doctor Light and realizes she is Earth 2's Linda Park (Malese Jow). 

Barry is temporarily blind for 6 hours. Zoom knows Linda is important to and he could be after the doppleganger. Wells leaves the room after Iris shows up. Iris reads the text and discovers Patty is late for their date. 

Though headphones, Cisco tries to guide Barry through his date with Patty. On their stakeout, Caitlin and Jay talk about Wells and his metahuman tech apps. Caitlin doesn't trust Wells, she trusts him. As Patty realizes that Barry cannot see, Jay and Caitlin are about to kiss when Doctor Light hits their van.

Iris stands in front of Linda when Doctor Light shows up. Jay gets out of the car wreck as Doctor Light kills Linda's boss. When Jay shows up, Doctor Light hist the room with a light storm. Barry and Patty kiss at the end of their date as his vision return. They both get called in to the crime scene.

Wells and Jay argue Doctor Light whether or not she can be reasoned with. Wells and Jay ended up getting into a fist-fight. With Doctor Light's helmet in their hands, Wells reveals that Cisco has powers of his own to the entire group.  

Wells forces Cisco to use his powers to find Doctor Light. At the train platform, the Flash orders the evacuation before they fight. Following Wells' orders,the scarlet speedster creates a speed mirage, distracting Doctor Light. Taking Jay advice, the Flash continues the speed mirage and knocks out Doctor Light. 

Jay is afraid of watching Barry die and leaves the team. Cisco meets Hawkgirl again, who's nicer this time and introduces herself as Kendra. Cisco realizes his superhero name should be Vibe.

Back at Earth 2, Zoom has Wells' daughter in chains and a cage.
