Why did Alanis Morrisette perform her hit tune "Ironic" dressed as a giant chicken on The Tonight Show? Well, because it's Jimmy Fallon, and that's what he does. And what he does goes viral—no matter what. Which is why you're (hopefully) reading about it here.
Yes, Tuesday night's episode of Fallon's NBC show welcomed in the famed singer. Upon returning from a commercial, sidekick Steve Higgins introduced The Jagged Little Chicks to do an all-cluck rendition of the famous hit.
Oh yeah, they clucked throughout the whole song, people. See for yourself:
For the record, the Jagged Little Chicks was made up of Fallon, Morissette, "All About That Bass" singer Meghan Trainor, and some other person.
Again, why did this happen? Who knows...
The appearance was most likely to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of Morissette's oh-so-famous album Jagged Little Pill, which was released back on June 9, 1995. Something that Twitter is very psyched about:
20 years since #JaggedLittlePill came out & it's re-released! Lots of great songs on that album! Faves? #AlanisMorissette - @radiojoecicero
