Legendary rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix is about to thrill his fans and music enthusiasts with a new posthumous album, "People, Hell and Angels." The famed musician's estate will be releasing the album that contains his unreleased music. It is scheduled to be released March 5.

The album will have a collection of twelve unreleased studio performances from the legend. The album will feature the follow-up track for chart-topping 1968 album "Electric Ladyland" that Hendrix was working on before his untimely death. Majority of the songs are from his sessions in 1968 and 1969 at the Record Plant Studios in New York.

This is the fourth album that is being released under the Experience Hendrix deal with Legacy Recordings.

"After the huge success of the (Jimi Hendrix) Experience and those first albums, he wanted to branch out more, and the blues sound on this is just different from the others," said Janie Hendrix, Jimi's step-sister and president and CEO of Experience Hendrix that looks after the late musician's estate.

"This new album is very important for all his fans as it really showcases his creativity and a different side to him," she told Reuters.

The album has Mitch Mitchell and Buddy Miles on the drums, saxophonist Lonnie Youngblood and bassist Billy Cox. Janie Hendrix has co-produced the album with mixer Eddie Kramer and Hendrix historian, John McDermott.

"He's a timeless artist and the technology's finally caught up to what he was trying to do musically," said Janie Hendrix

"People are still hungry for real music and good songs, and Jimi was a great songwriter and one of the greatest guitarists of all time," she added, Reuters reported.

Hendrix died of accidental drug overdose at the age of 27, Sept. 18, 1970, in London.

The album is already available for streaming.
