USA Network is just hours away from the season premiere of their new comedy, Donny! This is the prefect opportunity to check out why creator and star Donny Deutsch (Donny himself), actress Emily Tarver (Pam), and Fiona Robert (Coco) are a hilarious comedic team.
According to the plot synopsis, the former host of the CNBC talk show, The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, is playing a fictional version of himself. The TV personality happens to be a real-life Madison Avenue man, but he's also a single father who would do anything for his kids. Donny Deutsch has to juggle being a good parent and being at the top of his game as the host of his own talk show.
We have 5 reasons why you should watch the premiere of Donny! here:
5) The Opening Hooks You In!
The opening is a smart and satirical look at talk shows, such as Dr. Phil and The Jerry Springer Show. As seen in the trailer, Donny's guest happens to be a woman who texted naked pictures of herself. The USA comedy has a creative way of smoothly transitioning from pop culture jabs, like with sexting, to slapstick humor.
4) Donny Is Really Having Fun!
As the leading man of his own half-hour show, Donny Deutsch is willing to do any pratfall and visual gag to nail the comedic humor. Deutsch is clearly having fun going all-out to play an egoistical and self-absorbed version of himself. And you're love the scenes with his TV kids, Coco Deutsch (Fiona Robert) and Jagger Deutsch (Jacob Thomas Anderson). Donny's love for his kids will get him in and out of trouble.
3) The Assistants
Pay really close attention to actresses Meera Kumbhani as Zoe, Hailey Giles as Jackie, Jessica Renee Russell as Violet. Zoe (Kumbhani), Jackie (Giles), and Violet (Russell) are Donny's hard-working and scene-stealing assistants. With their snappy dialogue, the trio are just bouncing off the witty banter and nailing the comedic banter. This critic doesn't want to give too much away, but there is scene with these three, Donny and his kids, which will have you dying with laughter!
2) The Women Rule On This Show!
With the help of his closest entourage, Donny has to somehow balance both his professional and personal worlds. You're going tot love the heartwarming scene between Coco and Donny. You're going to want more of the assistants. And you're most definitely going to enjoy Emily Tarver, who is just comedic gold as producer Pam.
1) An Hour Of Hilarious Comedy!
As we previously mentioned, Donny! follows-up to the third season fall premiere of Chrisley Knows Best. This is a win-win situation to fans of laugh-out-loud comedy. Both shows are hilarious in their own way, which is why you're definitely not going to want to change the channel.
Donny! premieres Tuesday, November 10 at 10:30pm on USA Network.
