Donald Trump on Starbucks Red Holiday Cup Controversy: Vows to Bring 'Merry Christmas' Back

For everyone who is offended by Starbucks' red holiday cups, there's hope for you yet. Donald Trump is apparently promising that when he's in the POTUS seat we'll all be saying "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays."

Trump's comment came during an event on Monday, where he brought up the big news item of the day: Starbucks' "controversy" over their holiday cups. He admitted that he has "one of the most successful Starbucks" sitting right in Trump Tower in New York City. He then asked the audience if we should boycott the famed coffee chain.

"I don't know. Seriously, I don't care," he said. "By the way, that's the end of that lease, but who cares?"

Moreover, Trump continued onward with the "big news" of Starbucks offering a plain red (with a slight gradient) holiday cup rather than their traditional one with snowflakes, Christmas trees and other holiday favorites laid upon the sides—something that is really pissing off Christians around the country. He then promised, "If I become president, we're all going to be saying Merry Christmas again, that I can tell you. That I can tell you."

And naturally, the crowd loved it.

Trump is coming off of his hyped up Saturday Night Live performance, where he acted as the host of the iconic NBC sketch show. It was the second time he hosted the show, with the first being back in 2004. His recent episode held quite a few memorable moments, including the opening monologue in which comedian and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David called him a "racist" for $5,000.
