Would Eminem fans also consider the infamous "Rap God" a renowned pop sensation? Well, according to "Sorry" crooner Justin Bieber, the 43-year-old Detroit emcee deserves such recognition.
During a recent interview with Billboard, the 21-year-old hitmaker revealed his "Top 5 Greatest Male Pop Stars Of All Time," and Slim Shady surprisingly made the cut:
1. Michael Jackson: "The first thing that comes to mind is Michael Jackson, obviously. I just think that his iconic brand and what he stood for as an artist was groundbreaking."
2. Prince: "He's really inventive. He had his own style."
3. Eminem: "I guess Eminem is kind of a pop star. I know he's a rapper, but I feel like he was a pop star too, a little bit, based on his brand."
4. Usher: "He was my mentor and still is my mentor. Coming up under him was really special."
5. Justin Timberlake: "He's an amazing pop star. I've always respected the fact that he wasn't afraid to just be himself."
Wonder what the MMLP2 superstar would think of Bieber's official breakdown?
Well, while loyal #Stans anticipate new music from the "Phenomenal" rapper, Bieber just released his fourth studio album, Purpose. Unfortunately, the Biebs didn't snag any surprise collaborations with his favorite idols this time around, but Twitter's still going crazy:
@RickyPDillon: "I'm so obsessed with #purpose. @justinbieber it's so cool to see how you and your music have grown. I love love love the sound of this album."
@stillkidrauhl: "Words can't describe what I'm feeling right now, I'M SO PROUD. I love this album so much, this album is incredible #PURPOSE."
@LucyAndLydia: "When you love a album so much that you have to go out and get a hard copy as well as the iTunes version! #PURPOSE."
Maybe this all will finally inspire another old school Shady diss track?
