Netflix is just days away from its official November premiere of Marvel's Jessica Jones. This is the perfect opportunity to check out why you should binge-watch all 13 episodes starring actress Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) as the titled super heroine.
As we previously mentioned, Jessica Jones (Ritter) suffers from post-traumatic stress due to her superhero days. After giving up on her costumed lifestyle, Jones becomes the sole owner of her own gumshoe company, Alias Private Investigations. The Netflix freshmen drama follows the super-powered private eye as she investigates cases of the extraordinary kind.
We have 5 reasons why we're excited to see Marvel's Jessica Jones on Netflix:
5) The Perfect Leading Woman
Based on the previous teasers, the Netflix series appears to be faithful to the Marvel series written by Brian Michael Bendis (Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spiderman) and artist Michael Gaydos. Staying in tune to the character, in a scene straight-out of the comics, the private eye throws her client out the door, which has Alias Investigations written on the glass.
4) Luke Cage
Before getting his own solo series, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) will first appear in an episode of Marvel's Jessica Jones. During an investigation in New York City, the super-powered private investigator (Ritter) will encounter the enigmatic superhero. His secrets will dramatically alter Jessica in ways she could never have imagined. Based on the footage, will Cage turn out to be Jessica's lover or her sidekick?
3) Claire Temple
We also mentioned, Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) is crossing over from Daredevil to Jessica Jones before moving onto Luke Cage. In the Marvel comics, Claire Temple is the romantic interest of Luke Cage. Night Nurse takes care of costumed superheroes when they can't go to a regular hospital. With these two characters amalgamated, I can't wait to see how Dawson's Claire Temple and Ritter's Jessica Jones interact with each other.
2) The Big Bad!
As we previously mentioned, Marvel announced that the Fright Night actor will play the Marvel super villain, the Purple Man. Zebediah Killgrave was doused with an experimental nerve gas, which left the former spy with the ability to command and control other people. How insane is that scene as David Tennant's character holds a precinct hostage, with the police officers pointing their guns at each other!
1) Will There Be A Guest Star?
As we previously mentioned, Jessica Jones is just a part of Marvel's grand scheme to build-up towards The Defenders. With Marvel's Daredevil already in production for its sophomore season, does this mean we will see Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock? We'll just have to wait and see what happens in the season finale!
Marvel's Jessica Jones will premiere on Netflix Friday, November 20.
