Sir Paul McCartney was late to his daughter's premiere showing of her upcoming fashion line. However, he didn't miss a single outfit.
Ever the faithful daughter, Stella McCartney held off the beginning of her show until the ex-Beatle was seated. Other superstar guests in attendance, including Bono of U2 and actress Jessica Alba, didn't seem to mind the delay and were understanding of the young McCartney's reasoning.
For Paul's part, he lightened the mood a bit by crossing the stage on the way to his seat and singing "walk, walk, walk like a model", according to Reuters.
The clothing appeared to be worth the delay. The LA Times called the collection a "knockout" and proud papa Paul said the collection was "beautiful", "strong" and "clean."
The LA Times went on to say that the pieces were "wearable" and "sophisticated" and the traditionally male flourisheson female clothing exhibited a "practical femininity."
Stella McCartney claims that the fall-winter line is an attempt to put a feminine spin on classic British tailoring.
"It's that British tradition and classic tailoring - timeless pieces but redirected, injecting femininity, a curve, an insert as movement," Stella said.
The ready-to-wear collection featured oversized coats, long skirts, vivid hues and a ladylike spin on lapels and pinstriped suits.
"I wanted a refresh in a classical way," the designer said to Associated Press Fashion writer Thomas Adamson backstage at Paris' Opera Garnier. "Women have a masculine side and if you tap into that, you find another part of yourself."
