When Harry Potter ended a few years ago, it left fans with a very big void to fill, as many were left to cope with the ending of the series that they grew up on. However, the series coming to a close might have been the hardest for actor Daniel Radcliff, who says that he was really freaked out by the series ending that he turned to alcohol to cope with it.

According to Us Weekly, the star reportedly turned to drinking to deal with trying to return to normal life after filming wrapped on the last of the movies.

He opened up during an interview with Marc Maron's for his WTF podcast, where he says that no longer working, and living by himself lead to the substance dependency.

""I was pretty inconsolable on the last day of 'Potter' ... I was worried I was living alone, and I think I was really freaked out," the 26-year-old star explained, according to ABC News. "I drank a lot."

"I think it was more to do with going out in public and having a battle within me of thinking no, I can have a totally normal life," the star continued of what led to the alcohol abuse following the end of the series. "You get bored of waking up feeling like that."

He also mentioned that it was when he noticed that the drinking was affecting his work that he ultimately gave it up.

"I have a very addictive personality," the star opened up to Heat magazine. "It was a problem. I don't want to go into details, but I drank a lot and it was daily - I mean, nightly."

"I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work," he Woman in Black actor explained. "I can point to many scenes where I'm just gone. Dead behind the eyes."

However, Radcliffe revealed that he has been sober since 2013, and he is happily dating actress Erin Darke.
