But 42-year-old Pharrell still remains totally silent about his ugly black eye. So, what's up with that?

Well, rumors suggest that fellow hip-hop superstar Jay-Z got a little heated, and decided to teach "The Voice" coach a lesson from the streets.

Apparently, Pharrell was supposed to partner with the "99 Problems" emcee when he first launched the high-fidelity online music streaming service, Tidal. But the "Blurred Lines" sensation suddenly got cold feet and backed-out of the deal last minute. HOV was not impressed:

"[Jay] took it as a slap in the face for Pharrell to do that," an alleged MediaTakeOut.com. "Especially since Pharrell was one of the main people who came up with the idea for [Tidal]." 

So, did Beyonce's hubby finally seek some old school "gangsta life" revenge?

"Jay definitely wanted to SEE Pharrell, and have a face to face. I don't know if Jay still is about that 'street life'... but Pharrell had a black eye last night."

Wait - did Jay really punch his longtime industry friend in the face!? Well, Twitter's now abuzz:
