Jagged Edge singer Kyle Norman has been sentenced to probation and community service in the domestic assault case with his then-fiancee, Marrika Maria. Norman was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia in January 2015, after he attacked Maria and attempted to shove her engagement ring down her throat after a fight about his drinking.
The "Where the Party At" singer punched and choked her with a scarf before attempting to shove her engagement ring down her throat. Police stated the victim had swelling under her eyes, a knot the size of a golf ball on her forehead, a cut on her nose and a burst blood clot in her right eye.
Maria stated in the police report that Norman grabbed her keys and broke her cell phone, after becoming enraged about an argument over his drinking.
Norman was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.
Norman and Maria did get married months after the assault. The couple wed at the Suite Food Lounge in Atlanta, Georgia.

Maria forgave Norman, telling Rolling Out, "Crediting my deep prayers and talks with God, my deep love for Kyle and conviction that Kyle really does love me and has vowed not to place his hands on me ever again. I am not listening to the naysayers who keep trying to say he doesn’t love me and encourage me to leave.
"I will admit, I am in a lot of pain every day, physically. I am on several different pain medications which keep me up. I am not able to get more than three hours of sleep. I’m attending counseling three times per week and I know in my heart that God will help me get through this."
The singer was charged with six felonies, including false imprisonment, aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, misdemeanor battery and hindering a person from calling emergency services.
Norman, 39, actually faced prison time, but received 15 years of probation and community service for the aggravated assault charges, 10 years for false imprisonment and five years of probation and community service.
The Jagged Edge singer's attorney, Durante Partridge, told Bossip, "I feel as though the outcome was fair according to what we discussed with respects to Mr. Norman and everyone involved. I think the court, in this situation, did the right thing."
