Full House star John Stamos, known as Uncle Jesse on the television series, has been sentenced to three years probation. Stamos was arrested in June for driving under the influence of "date rape drug," GHB. The actor stated he was using the drug as a fitness supplement.
The Fuller House star was reportedly using GHB, a central nervous system depressant, to lean out ahead of his new show.
The Beverly Hills police received phone calls from concerned drivers on June 10 at around 7:45 p.m. with reports of a possible drunk driver.
Police pulled Stamos over in his silver Mercedes and the actor was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center because of a possible medical condition.
Police discovered at the hospital that the actor had been driving under influence and he was arrested. Stamos was cited for DUI.
Stamos was charged with DUI due to GHB in his system and another unspecified non-narcotic drug during his arrest.
The Grandfathered actor entered a 30-day treatment rehab facility for substance abuse following his arrest.
The 52-year-old actor was sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest in his DUI case, according to TMZ. Stamos must also attend 52 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and undergo two hours of counseling on drugs and alcohol. He could have faced six months in jail for the misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs.
Stamos' DUI arrest came a little over a month after he announced his Netflix show, Fuller House, a spin-off of his popular television sitcom, Full House.
The actor will reprise his role as hunky Uncle Jesse and will also produce the series. Other cast members confirmed to return include Bob Saget, Dave Coulierand, Lori Loughlin, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber.
