Luxury has been taken to another level. Louis Vuitton has reportedly gone beyond by releasing a brand new handbag with the astronomical price tag of $55,500. Yeah, you read that correctly – $55k for a purse! According to PurseBlog, Nicolas Ghesquiere and the good folks over at Louis Vuitton have elevated the brand's exclusivity. Dedicated to providing the most exclusive and exotic designer creations, LV has once again set itself apart in the luxury fashion world with their new addition to the City Steamer Bag collection.

The latest update to the City Steamer Bag collection, made out of crocodile skin, is around the same price as the average private university tuition.

This is not the first time the brand has been in the news for having an insanely high price tag. In August 2014, the Crocodile Lady PM Bag changed the handbag sector with being priced at $54,500, along with limited-edition satchels that were even pricier than the latest creation.

While some people may argue that this handbag strikes an uncanny resemblance to a Hermes Birkin handbag, we can almost guarantee that this bag will be spotted out and about. Handbags are arguably one of the most important accessories for women to have; nothing beats having the latest so it's only a matter of time before we see a fashionista donning the latest LV creation.

If being exclusive is what you're all about, this bag is definitely for you. Chances are, it will not be seen on the arms of everyday people because of the high sticker price.
