Sinead O’Connor Suicide Attempt: Facebook Message Claims She Never Wants to See Children Again

Sinead O'Connor reveals she never wants to see her two oldest children again following her suicide attempt and drug overdose. The "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer posted on Facebook she is cutting ties with Jake and Roison, blaming them and others for her suicide attempt. O'Connor writes in new Facebook post, "You're dead to me."

O'Connor sparked fears over her mental wellbeing after revealing on Facebook she had taken "an overdose" in a hotel in Ireland, which she had booked under another name.

The singer mentioned in her post that the fathers of her children were keeping her children away from her. She also mentioned having hysterectomy surgery.

O'Connor wrote, "The last two nights finished me off. I have taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I'm at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name."

The singer claimed she was posting the note because it would be the only way her family would know she had killed herself. She accuses them of not caring if she dies.

Sinead wrote another post on Facebook on Monday, stating she is cutting ties with two of her four children.

O'Connor's post on her Facebook page tells her two eldest children, Jake and Roisin, "I never wanna see you again" and "you're dead to me," before blaming them and others for her recent crisis.

According to Facebook, O'Connor has been battling with her son, Jake, and ex-boyfriend Lunny over the custody of her underage children, and has accused them of illegally keeping her from seeing them.

She was married to record producer John Reynolds and had a child Jake in 1987, before marrying British journalist Nick Sommerlad from 2001-2004, and musician Steve Cooney in 2010. Her marriage to Cooney ended in less than a year.

O'Connor also has a daughter, Roisin, with writer John Waters, and another boy, Shane, with Irish folk musician Donal Lunny.

Furthermore, she has a son named Yeshua from her one-year relationship with American surgeon and businessman Frank Bonadio.

She married drug counsellor Barry Herridge in 2011, but split 16 days later. They then remarried.
