Spectre may be crushing box offices everywhere, but at least one person is not a big fan of the film: former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan, who is calling the film "weak."

During promotions for his latest film, No Escape, he told HitFix his opinion of the latest Daniel Craig venture. He said, "I was looking forward to it enormously. I thought it was too long. The story was kind of weak -- it could have been condensed. It kind of went on too long. It really did."

Brosnan also took issue with the direction of the franchise in general, finding it confusing. "[Spectre] is neither fish nor fowl. It's neither Bond nor Bourne. Am I in a Bond movie?" Brosnan asked.

Brosnan did praise Craig's performance, however, saying, "But Daniel, in the fourth go-round, has ownership of it. He had a nice looseness to him."

From 1995 to 2002, Brosnan starred in the Bond franchise. Craig took over in 2006 in Casino Royale.

Craig has been making headlines in recent months for his apparent disinterest in the character and franchise. In a very candid interview with Time Out magazine, Craig was quoted as saying, "I'd rather slash my wrists [than reprise the role]." He went on to more or less say he was over the character and all he wants to do is move on from the role.

Later in the interview, though, Craig said he would probably feel that way for "at least a year or two." Despite these comments, and others like them, Craig is still listed as "rumored" on the Bond 25 page on IMDB, as is Skyfall and Spectre director, Sam Mendes.

Spectre was released in theaters on Nov. 6 and opened to mostly positive reviews. The film has garnered around $171 million in the U.S. alone.
