It looks as though the folks over at Reese's have some serious explaining to do. It's being reported that the peanut butter cup juggernaut, owned by Hershey, has upset some people with the lack-of-shape to their oh-so-desired Christmas Tree candy.
And from one glance at them, well, it seems as if the angered customers could be right.
The Reese's Christmas Tree chocolate is a staple of the Holiday Season, specifically Christmas—as they are released every year around the holiday. But if you open yourself a Reese's Christmas Tree this year you may be in for something a little different.
Meaning that it's just a big blob of chocolate, more so resembling their Easter peanut butter cup. Or, you know, a turd.
Regardless, like most things that happen when something public turns sour, Twitter was pissed:

The whole Reese's debacle sounds awfully similar to that of Starbucks' "controversy" a while back when the coffee company unveiled their 2015 red holiday cups. Again, the world was furious because of the lack-of-design. The new cups were a gradient of red, much different than the cups of the past, which oftentimes held images of snowflakes and snowmen.
In the end, this guy pretty much summed it up:
If you're complaining about the @ReesesPBCups #christmastree, you have way too much time in your hands. #merica — Jess Miller (@jesscomedy) December 1, 2015© 2025 Mstars News, All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
