According to Democrat and Chronicle, the Love & Hip Hop New York star was sentenced to eight years on Tuesday for his part in a drug trafficking conspiracy that involved shipping large amounts of cocaine and heroin from downstate New York to the Rochester area.
In court his wife held on to their youngest child, Skylar, as he told the judge and the court that he was sorry "for any trouble I have caused the city of Rochester."
The father of four claimed that his children helped him become a better person and learn from his past. "Ever since (having children), I've been trying to right my wrongs," the 37-year-old said to the U.S. District Judge Frank Geraci Jr. during his sentencing.
After learning his fate, Harris took to Instagram where he made a statement where he claimed that he takes full responsibility for his actions. “I want you all to understand something. I completely accept responsibility for all that is going on. My transition to be a better person a productive person started well before this case. However in my past I made some bad decisions,” he admitted.
He also wanted young men to let him be an example of what they shouldn’t be doing. He wanted young men to look at him and make sure they don’t repeat his mistakes and getting locked up.
“Young men educate yourself and break the cycle. Don’t become a number on the DOA (dead on arrival) list or on the incarceration list.”
