Like her character in Gravity, Sandra Bullock is feeling out of this world with the adoption of her second child, a 3-year-old baby girl named Laila who had been living in Foster Care in Louisiana. "When I look at Laila, there's no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here," claimed the Our Brand is Crisis star in the latest issue of People. "I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time."
Laila joins the Speed star's 5-yea-old son Louis Bardot who was previously adopted in Louisiana in 2010. Initially Bullock began adoption proceedings with her then husband Jesse James but after they split she adopted Louis as a single parent.
Ironically, less than sixty days ago the Blind Side Oscar winner denied she was adopting another child when asked the question during a press junket for her new film Our Brand Is Crisis. "There is only one adopted child in my household and his name is Louis. If I had a second adopted child, everyone would be hearing about it. I would be loud and clear and say, 'Yes, I have officially adopted a second child.' Right now, Louis must be it." insisted Bullock.
As for the second adoption, Bullock, 51, claims the process was in the works as early as three years ago. "Laila brought pink and glitter in the house mixed with Legos and Batmans. When she first joined the family, I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren't going anywhere. "My family is blended and diverse, nutty, and loving and understanding," she adds. "That's a family."
Bullock is currently dating LA based photographer Bryan Randall who will probably shoot the family's upcoming holiday portrait.
