All Empire fans can agree that we have collectively been waiting with bated breath to see how the fall finale will end. Titled "Et Tu, Brute" is the appropriate title for all that enfolds on this finale.
Luscious Lyon (Terrence Howard) walks in on his son Jamal (Jussie Smollett) in a rather compromising exchange with Skye Summers (Alicia Keys) who have since been intimate for one of the wildest cliffhangers in history being that Jamal is openly gay. Luscious being the ignorant man that he is was proud to see Jamal indulge into a woman. Jamal crushes Skye's feelings revealing that he would never have those kind of feelings for her because in the back of his mind he still misses his ex Michael.

Mimi Whiteman (Marisa Tomei) and Luscious meet up to handle some business with Empire. Luscious, who naturally feels comfortable around Mimi, shares his feelings about their fellow board members. Unknown to Luscious, Mimi has a trick up her sleeve.
Luscious appears to be in good spirits as Jamal receives several "American Award Nominations" and he is also set to make a profit from streaming music. As he announces Empire's acquisition of Swift Stream, which is the same day as the American Award Nominations, he is blindsided by Mimi who reveals that she wants to vote Luscious out of Empire.
Cookie (Taraji P Henson) decides to pay homage to her former fellow inmates at Wallace Correctional Facility, where she spent the last 17 years of her life. The crowd gets emotional as Cookie describes her highs and lows in the correctional facility.
Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) performs with his girlfriend Laura (Jamila Velazquez). He shares with the crowd his reservations about coming and much less performing at the place where his mother spent time.
Andre (Trai Byers) comes and informs them of the emergency board meeting. Hakeem gets a surprise visit from his ex-girlfriend Camilla (Naomi Campbell) who Luscious sent away. Camilla lets Hakeem know that she still loves him and everything that she had done is for him and their relationship.
The boardroom is tense as the vote is split and Hakeem is the deciding factor. To no ones surprise, Hakeem's disdain for Luscious makes him vote against him. It is then that Mimi reveals that her wife who everyone discovers is no other than Camilla (Hakeem's ex) is acting CEO of Empire as she is away getting treatment for breast cancer.
Cookie, who usually talks sense into everyone is two seconds too late. As she discovers that Camilla is now acting CEO she spits right in her face.
Luscious goes crazy shooting up his study and Cookie comes in to set him straight. "All these years, selling CDS from the back of the car....moving bodies!" he screams before calling Hakeem "ungrateful" and "lousy." But Cookie reminds him that he's still got two sons and that he needs to pull it together for the family.
Just when you think that things can't get any worse they do. Andre decides to call his wife Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) but she doesn't come to the phone. Days after entertaining Anika (Grace Gealey) in her nursery, an intruder breaks into her home. A masked individual then pushes Rhonda down the stairs.
After watching the finale we really think Anika is the one who pushed Rhonda down the stairs. But nothing is ever as it seems.
Empire will not be back on our television screens until March.
Who do you guys think pushed Rhonda down the stairs? The person you always suspect never always turns out to be the culprit. Let us know your thoughts down below!
